Self-Assembled Films of Dendrimers and Metallophthalocyanines as FET-Based Glucose Biosensors
Separative extended gate field effect transistor (SEGFET) type devices have been used as an ion sensor or biosensor as an alternative to traditional ion sensitive field effect transistors (ISFETs) due to their robustness, ease of fabrication, low cost and possibility of FET isolation from the chemical environment. The layer-by-layer technique allows the combination of different materials with s...
متن کاملAnalytical aspects of fet-based biosensors.
Field-effect transistor (FET)-based biosensors (BioFETs) have undergone great progress especially in the last decade, since they were first realized in 1980. Recently, BioFETs have become one of the most important branches of biosensors. This paper briefly reviewed the operating principles of BioFETs and summarized the improvement and application of BioFETs, finally, the future prospects of Bio...

Calix[4]arenes substituted at their wide rim by four aryl urea residues (1) form hydrogen-bonded dimers in apolar solvents. Replacement of one urea residue by an acetamido moiety leads to calix[4]arene derivatives (5) which form hydrogen-bonded tetramers under the same conditions. Both self-assembly processes occur independently. Therefore, molecules have been prepared in which a tetra-urea cal...

The potential of luminescent semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) to enable development of hybrid inorganic-bioreceptor sensing materials has remained largely unrealized. We report the design, formation and testing of QD-protein assemblies that function as chemical sensors. In these assemblies, multiple copies of Escherichia coli maltose-binding protein (MBP) coordinate to each QD by a C-terminal o...
متن کاملThe development and application of FET-based biosensors.
After having considered the general definition of biosensors, the specifications of one type are discussed here in more detail, namely the pH-sensitive ISFET, which is at present being clinically investigated for intravascular blood pH recording. Results, advantages and possible improvements will be discussed, as well as a prediction with respect to future developments of FET-based biosensors.
